This is SO DAMN FRUSTRATING!!!
Firefox has a TON of problems with all things Google, on my machine. Most of the time, both in Firefox and Safari, it will take a long time for Google to load. Then, either: A.) Often times, both will time out B.) Less frequently, there will be a long wait time, Safari loads Google and Firefox does not C.) Even less frequently, Firefox and Safari both load Google and then Google works in Firefox for 15ish seconds and then goes back to (B) And, just recently, Firefox has started to stop loading completely! Ill type in google.com and it will start loading... then just stop. No more effort to continue loading. It sits on a blank (Untitled) page. -I don't ever have any problems pinging google.com. -No proxies are installed. -All other domains, in both browsers, work without a hitch, always. -This occurs on all Google properties so Gmail, included. -If I type the IP directly in Firefox, such as 209.85.171.100, it loads Google, quickly, in both browsers. -This happens on multiple internet connections, on multiple router nodes (ie across university campus and at home, too). -I've cleared my caches in both browsers. Please help ease this frustration.

do you have anything else installed? I'm thinking primarily of something like the google toolbar, but any other add-ons are worth noting as well. if you create a new, fresh user acount and fire up Firefox and Safari there, do you get the same result?

Search for "Public DNS Server" on your preferred search engine (or maybe on one that you don't prefer, if needed :-P ). When you find a good public DNS Server from your region, try putting the associated IP addresses of those DNS Servers into System Preferences > Network in the DNS Servers field (exact directions are different for OS X 10.5 or for OS X 10.4 and previous, and you haven't told us what OS you are using).
With the new DNS servers, do you still have these problems with Google? Trevor
