How to mount a disk image in virtualbox

I'm trying to mount a disk image in Windows running under virtualbox.

I want it to emulate CD drive and have both read and write privledges.

I tried creating a dmg and letting virtual box mount it, but when I do I don't see anything showing up under "my computer" where all the physcial drives show up in windows. I know that to share folders I usually have to type "net use x: \\vbxsrvr\foo" in windows to get them to appear. is there some missing command for the mounted iso? The regular CD's chow up under mycomputer so it seems like the images should to.

Even if I figure that out I suspect I won't end up with write access since virtua;lbox woth support writing CDs.

So my second attack has been to try to use various windows programs that will mount an .iso disk image. But so far I have not gotten that to work.

any ideas?
