I get that error message when I try to send mail using Outlook from outside our network using IMAP. (sounds confusing but I will try to explain) Our OS X 10.4.11 server is setup for IMAP and POP3. Internally most people use IMAP so they can see all their mail in squirrelmail. We have one user who will be working out of a different office for awhile. I can setup IMAP for her and see all her messages and get messages but when I reply to anything I get that "Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname" error. I have dug around on the Internet and she has a FQN in her settings so I think it must be on the server end but I don't have a clue how to resolve it.
Any ideas? Thanks |

why not use webmail on 10.4.11?
also, do you have dns servers in the network settings on the server? |

webmail is fine for awhile but I find that most users like to have a dedicated program if they are going to be using if for months.
