iPhoto problem after upgrading from OS X 10.2 to 10.4

HELP PLEASE!

Here's the problem:

After up-grading from OS X 10.2 to OS X 10.4 recently, now my iPhoto won't edit a photo, or another one, after I export one photo. After so doing, what happens is NOTHING more. It won't let me edit the photo further, nor will it allow me to edit the next photo. In fact, it won't even allow me to quit iPhoto. It just goes dead on me, so to speak. And my only option is to "force quit" it, then restart the iPhoto each time I want to edit a photo and export it.

Please tell me how to keep the iPhoto working. Thanks in advance.
