How to recognize NAS drive?
I'm sure there is an easy answer but I cannot see our NAS drive on our local network. For the PC's, we can map a drive and it shows up. How to do this on a Mac with OSX? The drive is a Buffalo running NASExplorer. Thanks.

Go to System Prefs > Sharing and turn on Windows sharing.
(This won't be necessary if the NAS also supports AFP (apple filing protocol)) Then use Finder Go menu > Connect to Server. |

Thanks gsahli.
Could not get Windows sharing service to appear in the table, although File sharing and Web sharing were there, among others.
When I browse, I see Devices, Shared, Places, and Search results, but the HD does not show up. Any further suggestions? By the way, this is for OS 10.5.4 and the NAS software on the HD is NASNavigator2. Thanks for the help. |
