iTunes won't burn CDs anymore.

Positive the discs are blank, have tried different brands and restarting everything but iTunes says "Please insert blank disc". I can still play other CDs and DVDs and the pop-up menu appears when I put the blank disc in (and recognizes it as a blank disc) I've never had this problem before and it happened suddenly as of a few weeks ago.

what Mac do you have?

does the CD/DVD drive show up in system profiler...?

are you sure you have the right blank disks for your drive?

Hi ya,

Hope you dont mind me butting in on this thread but i have this same problem, I posted a thread about it quite a long time ago but the problem didn't get solved & i've lived without being able to burn anything for 4 years (from Itunes to files, to DVDS etc)

I would love to sort this problem out, & also help out lilgiraffe925 as well because it sounds like we both have the same, or a similar problem. I posted 2 photos of what you asked for Photek, would be great if you could offer any help, many thanks !

You can try a DVD cleaning kit, available at any competent electronics or computer store.

If that doesn't fix it, replace your old slow burner with a new faster SuperDrive. Cheap: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/optic...s/superdrives/

Try this:

When you select "burn disc" and the "burn settings" window pops up, make sure the "cd burner" drop-down is selecting the proper drive. I had the same prob and turns out that itunes was selecting a mp4-mp3 program as my cd burner. I just had to use the drop-down window and select the correct drive. Anyway...maybe, maybe not. Good luck...
