solved: copy mail.app data to new computer

I did a search but it appears the instructions were for a previous version of mail. I would like to copy all of my data, rules and etc from my laptop to my desktop machine. I am a unix kind of guy, can I just use rsync to copy or will it keep the data forks when I find out what files to move?

thanks,
Danny

I'm not sure if Mail uses forks, but to be safe, you could use the -E flag with rsync, as long as both systems use that flag.

I didn't know about the -E flag, thanks, that will help. Now I just need to know what to copy.

thanks,
Danny

Ok, I copied:
~/Library/Mail
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.searchhistory.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist

and all seems ok.

thanks,
Danny
