I am trying to weasel a Mac for my work. It would be on a Win network. So far, I have actually been able to convince the IT manager to purchase a 1gDPG4 to replace his aging Bondi iMac. He has since become slightly enamoured with the Mac and OSXJAG.
One obsticle that he mentions to me is the Password Aging notification on Windows machines. When it is within 10 days of your login password to expire, a message pops up during your login asking if you want to change your password. You either click yes and make the change or you may click later. If you do not change the password by the time the message states, you will be locked out. My question: Does JAG have this capability during the "Connect to Server" function? I would really stand a good chance of getting my Mac if there was a tweak. Sincerely, John. |

This is one of the weaknesses of Jag's Windows networking. You can't log on to an NT network domain (only individual machines, one at a time) and you can't change your domain password. You have to do this either from a Windows machine or buy DAVE.
