~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari is missing

After upgrading to 10.5.2, I noticed that my Safari cache folder (~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari) was missing. I have found that the Safari cache folder has been moved deep within my /var folder. Clearing the cache from the Safari menu, and reseting Safari does not empty the "hidden" cache, and unless I use Terminal to access and delete the folder manually, it continues to grow endlessly.

I've tried repairing permissions, reinstalling the 10.5.2 update, reinstalling Safari, and even doing a erase and install of the OS, but I've had no success with either of those.

I just wanted to confirm with other people who have 10.5.2 that this is indeed an anomaly.

This issue has been discussed on Apple support forum http://discussions.apple.com/thread....08218&#6608218, but I was hoping that someone here might have some other suggestions.

I don't see a "Safari" in my cache folder. Thanks though.
