Connecting to AP's via Mac Address

I need to connect a 10.4 powerbook to an AP via Mac Address. The airport utility doesn't have that advanced capability and since this is an extended wireless network there are 3 AP's with the same SSID.

What utility can I use to connect the wireless via Mac Address?

Thanks for any tips.

If I understand your question, the ability to validate a MAC address lies in the primary router. You would need admin control of that router, enter your MAC address to its list, then restart the router. The validation will pass to the repeater routers automatically. Technically, you aren't really connecting via MAC address, you are connecting over plain old vanilla wireless protocol 802, but then validating with the MAC addy.

Thanks for the response and I am at fault for not making myself clearer.

I have a wireless router and two range extenders (AP) and they all have the same SSID. In the airport utility you only see one SSID and not three. I need an application that can find wireless signals based on SSID and MAC address. So that when I attempt to connect to a wireless signal, I will see three signals with the same SSID but different MAC addresses.

This is all to make sure I maximize the wireless signal as they are spread throughout a 7,800 sq. ft. property.

Any suggestions?

Your Mac should automatically switch to the strongest signal in the range available.

hayne: thank you

LV: thank you but I find my own lack-of-faith disturbing - I need to take the mask off, I must know!
