Connecting my Macbook to a TV

I have a new macbook and want to watch movies that i have saved on my hard drive on a tv.
here are my specs:
model identifier: macbook3,1
processor name: intel core 2 duo

what cable do i need to get to do this?

Hi,

You need Apple Mini-DVI to Video Adapter a S-Video cable and an audio cable or you need an Apple TV to do this remotely.
