OSX 10.3 & the iPhone
ok, i know you need 10.4 minimum to run the iPhone. i've activated it with my macbook running 10.4.x just fine.
hitch is, my music server is a DP2.0 G5 running 10.3 in the other room. i don't store any music whatsoever on any of my other computers because they all can access the server via iTunes. my iPods all sync fine hooking directly up to the music server running 10.3. enter iPhone. guess what? no worky. any ideas on how to get some tunage on the 'ol iPhone? what are my options aside from either A) updating the music server to 10.4 (not an option--this is a production machine that needs to remain quick and nimble...in other words, as is), or B) having an iTunes library on a removable harddrive? (not an ideal solution due to the mere hassle of lugging a drive to the macbook…but doable) Last edited by cudaboy_71; 02-02-2008 at 11:23 PM. |

Should be simple - leave the music on the server, plug the ipods/phone into the client machines running 10.4 and set them up to treat the files on the server as their library. My office runs basically like this.
