accidently deleted Documents folder

I was recently trying to move (drag) my Documents folder to the dock but instead of it staying in place it vanished like I threw it in the trash, BUT it's not in the trash. Is there any way to get it back?

Could it be that you tried to drag from the sidebar ? the icons there will go poof if you move them out; this does not have any effect on the actual folder they refer to.

Yes, I was trying to drag it from the sidebar to the dock. I ultimately wanted it in both locations (on the dock as a shortcut). Anyways, I just searched in the Spotlight and found the Documents folder with all my stuff in it. Now my question is how to I move it back to where it was on the sidebar?

P.S. Once I can get that fixed, is there a way to make a shortcut of it on the dock? I know that in Leopard there is something called stacks that would be exactly what I am looking for but I'm still using Tiger.

easy enough: Just locate the folder in a normal Finder window and drag it to the sidebar. Do the same to have the folder in the dock (works only in the lower / right part of the dock, as you probably know). As for stacks: Try and click-and-hold on a folder icon in the dock; almost as good

To restore the Documents folder in your Sidebar, open your Home folder (Looks like a house. Has your name) and drag the Documents folder back to your sidebar. To place the Documents folder into your Dock, drag the same Documents folder from your Home folder to the Dock, next to the Trash can.
