looking for collage maker or poster maker app (currently use Corel Print House on PC)

I'm trying to find a collage maker or poster maker for Tiger or leopard.
I wish to put ten or twelve pictures on a 8.5 X 11 sheet of paper.
I'll need to add text on top of each picture. Currently, I'm using an old
Windows system with Corel Print House. I wish to discard the PC as I
only use it for this one program.
Does anyone know of a "Simple" OS X program that can help me?

Pages, NeoOffice, Nisus Writer, etc.

Most word processors can easily do this. Even MS Word can do it!

I need to "overlap" the photos. MS Word will not allow me to do this.
I need to click on a photo, resize, and place where I wish and then add
movable text on top of the photo. Corel makes this easy. But.... I love
my mac's.

Macupdate shows many layout programs. SwiftPublisher seems to do what you want with ease.

Although it's not as freeform as you might need, Comic Life (bundled software on the last couple of Intel Macs that have crossed my desk) might also be worth a look.
