Application-Specific Volume Control

Is there a way to control the volume (say, mute) an individual application (like a browser or game) while allowing others to still make noise (like iTunes). Some don't have internal volume controls, no matter how hard I look, and I'd rather not mute my whole computer. Any suggestions? Is there a third-party program taht would do this—I've looked at detour, but that's not for intel macs. I'm running 10.5.1.

Is this the right section for this to be under, or should I post it in Applications?

Try Audio Hijack Pro or OSS 3D (neither are free unfortunately).
