Question How to connect a mini dv camcorder.

I recently purchased a Panasonic PV-GS320 and while i connected it to my Mac through a USB port (my Mac is PowerBook G4, with iMovie, version 5.0).
The computer didn’t recognize it, Does anyone know what to do?

Use firewire. I don't think you can send DV over USB.
The DV camera should have a mini-size firewire connector on it some place.

Typically for these cameras on a Mac, Firewire (IEEE 1394) is used for the DV footage transfer, and USB is used for transferring any still images you took. It might be able to use USB to transfer video to a PC, but the Mac and iMovie have traditionally used FireWire for video transfer. The camera specs say it has a Firewire port.

BTW: The camera's firewire port is labeled "DV" and requires a "MiniDV to Firewire" cable.
