10.5 Limitation?: How save screenshots to folder?

Before Leopard, when I made screenshots, I could save all at the moment they were captured to a special folder on the desktop.

With OS 10.5 on a G5, it seems that one is given no choice about where to save .png files when either using command-shift-4 or the Grab application.

Is there a workaround?

Respectfully, Norm

Wups! I just remembered:

1. Create folder called Screenshots on my users’ desktop
2. Paste in Terminal following, including space before the full path to folder:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Users/yourname/desktop/Screenshots
3. Hit return key, log out and then log back in

It works great.

Great Tip

this works!

just makes sure to fill in your username in the part where it says "yourname". I forgot to do that the 1st time and then realized my mistake.
