Question how do I set display overscan for TV in OSX

I'm sick of not having full screen playback of DVD's with my powerbook pluged into my TV

Connect your PB to your TV and select Displays from System Preferences. You will find two different Windows to configure your screens. The one displayed on (and only) the TV has a pane named "Options" where you can enable "Overscan" and a "Best for Video" checkbox. These are disabled by default.

So beside my answer comes my question: Is there a way to enable at least these "Overscan" Option from the Displays preferences by default?

Try downloading the ATI 4.5.7 driver. It allows to manually set the video size and to activate overscan as default.
