try changing the screen resolution to the default ?(1440*900) or something else, also may need to contact apple about the problem.

Have you installed any memory lately? Try backing it out and see what happens. Something as regular as that can be caused by bad RAM.

I'll ask them about RAM tomorrow. Some more info from them:

'These shots were taken by Bex when it happened again, so just in the middle of browsing the web. We've powered the computer down now, but when powered back up all that happens is you get the grey screen with the apple logo centred and those zaggy lines running right across it, and then after a short while the lines clear as the screen turns blue and that's all we're left with. Blue screen.'

any ideas?

cheers,

jon

Any chimes or weird noises at startup? It sounds very like either RAM or motherboard. Hope it's in warranty.

please tell me it hasent been dropped
ok now that parts over it's time to start walking it backwards,( yes i know a pain might be faster to reformat once you get past hardware)if you are not getting funny sounds i do doubt the ram is the problem bu do try pulling it just in case, also before you do any hard stuff like that, like appleman_design suggested and go to the default screen setting.

Problem is, the machine currently won't boot up, it's stuck on a blue screen. They were told by some apple reseller to do an archive and install, which they did, but that only solved the problem for a few days.

Any ideas other than a clean install?

Cheers,

jon
