Lost Application Support file...

After reinstalling the OS and updating, I was using PathFinder to copy over my previous Application Support file. PathFinder kinda froze (quit option greyed out but no issues reported in Act Monitor) and the target AS folder from ~previous systems is now gonzo. Can't find it with Spotlight and the destination folder (~Library/applicationsupport) in my "new" system remains unchanged.

Can I retrieve the "lost" AS file somehow?

TIA

Try using a third-party search app like EasyFind. It can/will search in every location for that folder. Spotlight is purposely limited in the locations that it will search.

Excellent advice! Thanks. EasyFind found it.....wait for it.....where it was in the /previous systems folder. So, why can Pathfinder and Finder not see it???

Tried copying it into the new account and I get a message saying that The operation cannot be completed because "DeviceList.plist" is in use...

Any ideas how to proceed?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you.

I don't have that .plist as part of my system, so it's probably a third-party preference file (although it could be part of the Intel Tiger OS). Try quitting all third-party applications, then move the file.

I don't know. Is the filename preceded by a period (full stop)?

What happens if you remove devicelist.plist? Will the rest of the files copy over?
