Installer Vise Problems

Greetings,

MacBook Pro
OS X 10.4.10

Trying to install Epson printer drivers from their Installer Vise programs, I have discovered that I seem not to be able to run Installer Vise programs at all on my machine. (I've tried a few more.) They hop about a bit for a few seconds at most in the Dock, then quit. I can't find any log references, there are no messages, dialogs, warnings, nothing that I can see to give a clue as to what's happening.

What's not standard on my machine: development setup in /Applications (IDE, databases, code, etc) and Tomcat in /usr/local.

Other applications seem fine. Any suggestions, etc. gratefully received!

Does the problem continue from a newly-created user on this computer?

Any chance that you are trying to install Classic/OS 9 software by mistake?

I thought of that - Get Info says that the installers I've tried are built with an older (ca 2002) version of Installer Vise (8.0.2) but I've ben told by Mindvision and Epson that it should run OK on OS X 10.4.10 Intel. Not that it's any guarantee, but they are labeled as being specifically for Intel machines.

Fixed it. Turned out to be a more widespread problem with Rosetta connected with a problem with the latest version of QuickTime. The fix was tedious but I'm back in business again.
