Free app to remove hum/static/fuzz from audio?

Hello. I've been looking for a program equivalent to SoundSoap in order to edit my audio files. All I really need is a program/plugin to take out the background fuzz, hum, static, what ever you'd like to call it, that my recording have. Any suggestions for a program would be great.

Thanks

Not the equivalent of SoundSoap, but free: Audacity, http://audacity.sourceforge.net/.

Thank you, but I already have Garageband to record music. I also have Audiacity to edit audio for ringtones and such. I need a editing program in order to remove static and hiss that I get from recording with programs like Garageband and Audacity.

I thought that Audacity had a sound invert or noise reducer?

Yes, under the Effect menu, you have Noise Removal, Click Removal, and a couple of selective equalization filters that you can mix and match to get rid of most noise.
