How to download a file using Terminal?

I know the command for Linux: wget <URL>

I was looking for something similar to use with Darwin. I wanted to download this file using the Darwin terminal: http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-5.2.tar.gz

I have look around and found nothing. thanks

I would recommend wget.
If you install fink which is a package manager then you can install loads of commands from the "linux" world. Including wget.

why not use wget?

Download and install fink which is a package manager for OS X that allows you to install all your favorite *nix terminal commands such as wget

http://finkcommander.sourceforge.net/

**EDIT

Looks like I got beaten to the punch!

Why not curl?

Code:
curl -O http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-5.2.tar.gz

curl would work but wget is more robust with its options.

Fink Commander is most definitely optional. It's just a GUI to control fink. If you prefer the command line, you don't need FinkCommander.

I find the two tools are complementary - for example, wget will parse files for more links to download, while curl will do sequences like file01 -> file99. If it's a single file like an install package then use curl, only because it's pre-installed and you don't need to add over a gigabyte of unrelated software just to compile wget.

Thank you sincerely for all the work-arounds. Now I would like to ask if anyone knows of any default command that doesn't require downloading a command that will download a file.
