imovie 3 updater nowhere to be found
I have a lot of problems with imovie 3 from the go (I have Panther OS and Powerbook G4). It doesn't let me remove the Ken Burns effect from still photos and it doesn't let me change the duration of the showing of the photo (stuck at 5 seconds). I just want to make a short movie of some JPEGS. Present it like slides in a movie. Nothing complex. And I find that imovie 3 has a lot of issues. Apparently there is imovie 3.0.2 and 3.0.3 updates that fix many of these issues, but I did a search and even went to the Apple site but can't find the 3.0.3 update.
It's not on version tracker and other links come up blank. Where is the elusive update for imovie 3? Or has it been removed by Apple? I checked Software Update and it doesn't show up there either. This is really annoying as I don't want any zoom in or panning effects as there is text in the photo I want people to read. And I want to give them more time than 5 seconds. The Apple site is of no help at all. It says do this to get rid of panning etc but they're talking about a newer version of imovie because it's a known issue of imovie 3. Does the Update exist? Some people talk about it but it was in 2003. They said 3.0.2 wasn't good but 3.0.3 fixed many of those issues. Or did Apple take it off their site because they want people to buy imovie 6 or iLife etc. Thanks for the help. |

Go to http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ and search for iMovie and you will see a link to the iMovie 3.0.3 updater.

Thanks for that. I did have imovie 3.0.3 after all. It's just when you click on the "get info" it comes up as imovie 3 in big letters and 3.0.3 somewhere down in small letters. That's why the software update didn't show up the new software - because I already had it. I wonder why the Apple page on Version Tracker came up dead though? Anyway it's on another Apple page - the one linked to. Thanks hayne.
The other mistake I was making was trying to turn of the Ken Burns effects from the imovie page. I was supposed to go into iphoto and turn off the effects there. I skipped iphoto because I was dragging my images from the Desktop onto imovie. That was why I was having great difficulty dragging the images although I did drag some onto the frames. I should have put the images into iphoto from the Desktop (they're images I downloaded from the internet) and then gone into iphoto from imovie. |
