Linux partition labeled as windows
I have Mac and Linux on my macbook, but when I choose which partition to boot from at startup the linux partition is labeled windows. not a big deal but just wondering if I could possibly alter this

you can rename the volume in the OS from the get info window.

Are you using rEFIt? If you're using the default boot loader that Boot Camp provides, then it will say Windows for anything other than OS X, regardless of what the operating system may really be. rEFIt will show you what the OS truly is. It's pretty easy to set up, as I recall, here's a link: http://refit.sourceforge.net/ It has some other benefits, too, and is pretty customizable! Oh, but I should say, I think rEFIt is only compatible with Intel Macs. So if you have PPC, I'm not sure what options are available to you. Last edited by Brighid.kitten; 05-30-2007 at 12:25 AM.
