Unhappy powerbook g4 not reading ANY audio cds

Just got a new ipod to consolidate all my music but to my dismay my powerbook g4 now refuses to recognize any type of audio cds. Spins around only to spit them back out. Have heard about possibly deleting "CD Info.cidb" file. Any thoughts? Running the latest software...

Will the PB recognize/mount any CD or DVD (for example, your installation disc or any software disc)? Does it spit out everything?

Is the problem limited to audio CDs? Factory discs or ones you burned yourself?

And, in addition to macosnoob's questions above, please tell us if the problem continues if you create a brand new user and try to use a CD in that new user?

I'm not sure if less than 1 GB of hard drive space could block audio CDs from mounting, but it is definitely a problem. You can have very bad things happen when you don't have available hard drive space--it should be your first and highest priority to free up some space. If there's just no way that you can do that, then buy a new, bigger hard drive and install it in your PowerBook.
