Block MSN

Does someone knows how to block the use the use of that program. I have a network with 8 computers and the only things that I have are a 2wire modem and a switch. I need to block it now.

I'm not sure what ports it actually uses, but you might be able to configure your firewall to block those ports when that can be determined. I'm not sure there's anything else that could be done system-wide to block that traffic, though you could remove it from all existing computers, I'd guess. With just 8 computers, that shouldn't take very long.

Your 2wire can block msn if your ISP provides that feature.

2Wire offers broad band applications that have that capability but which ones are available vary by ISP. 2 examples would be QWest which offers the access controls that can do what you want but you pay a small monthly fee. AT&T however doesn't offer their customers the option. So you can call your ISP or whoever you purchased the 2Wire from and see if they will offer you those apps or not. The best part is that they work on all devices regardless of OS. Worst comes to worst you can play with the advanced firewall settings(for free and already in your 2Wire) which will do the trick but risks stopping things other than msn. I believe the all other protocols box is the one you select to disable but like I said it will stop allot more then just msn probably so do at your own risk.
