Moving the mouse from code

I have an application that needs to simulate a user and therefore needs to push the cursor around.

Calling this kind of sequence used to work fine under OS 9:

LMSetMouseTemp
LMSetRawMouseLocation
LMSetCursorNew

However, Apple's technical docs say this is is gone in Carbon and that "application control of the mouse is not supported in Carbon."
This is a bummer--does anyone have any idea how I can push the mouse around from Carbon?
