Form URLs

In some forum searches, user cannot bookmark hitlist, because url looks something like this:

site.com/result.html

How can i turn that to this:

site.com/searchterm=macintosh

its probably sending the search form using post, you might try and look at the form, and replicate the same thing with GET, just to see if they perhaps set it up to accept the GET protocol also.
I would need to see an example though.
other wise
http://www.google.com/search?client=...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
google does pretty good searching
