Sounds like a strange request, but i was hoping someone may have a hack or any simple solution to my problem.
I often use my mac to play dvds on my 32" LCD. the problem i have is that i want to shut the lid and have my powerbook stay awake - NOT go into sleep mode. sounds simple except i down own a usb keyboard to wake it up from, and i dont particularly want to. i just want to be able to shut the lid without stopping all the programs. |

Only way to close the lid on a laptop and not have it go to sleep is the following:
1) Must have power cord connected. Will not operate with lid closed on battery. 2) Must have External Monitor connected 3) Must have external USB mouse connected ( Some units will also require an external USB keyboard ) If you meet all of the above criteria then the PowerBook should operate with the lid closed. This is the only way I know of to get this working. |
