Macbook Pro as Secondary Display?

Hi,

This may sound odd, but I was wondering if it is possible to use my macbook pro as an external display to my power mac g5. The reason for this is that my power mac is my work computer and has all of my information on it and my mbp is my personal computer. HOWEVER, if it were possible to hook up my mbp and just use it as a secondary display it would rock and be super helpful at work.

Anyone know is this is possible?

Thanks
Gruen

Nope, not in any reasonably fast way. (I.e. you could do it slowly using VNC, Timbuktu, etc. and an adapter to fake a second display on the PowerMac G5.)

This question does not sound odd, it gets asked approximately once a month. Doing a search would yield further discussion on the subject.

Check out ScreenRecycler. I haven't tried it yet but, it
should allow your Macbook to be a second display.

I've been using ScreenRecycler. If you are using an app that doesn't need a super fast refresh rate, it might be acceptable. Because it is over Ethernet instead of fast video, refresh is sloooooooooow.
