It's a foosball (table soccer) game.

One man hands the other the ball and then scores off of him.

nope, he hands him a marble and then shoots him. You already know that the marble is not glass, and is vital to some people's health.

OK t...

This is really not "fair", as these are not true riddles.... google marble, and tell me there is some reference to what is in the "riddle".... Most riddles do make sense...

A hemophiliac who shoots himself??? Blood loss would bring on an eventual stupor, then unconsciousness which would be followed by a peaceful death. Shooting himself is a non-sequitor response to a cut....

...so... No, I'm not being petulant, just trying to get reasonable riddles... If the "solution of the marble" turns out to make sense, you've my apologies....

I agree that it's not a great logic puzzle.

The yes or no questions are not supposed to be necessary to reason out the answer. That's just the party game element of it. Still, there's room for disagreement. Maybe when the answer is produced, someone will say, "Hey! That was genius!"

I guess they are actually called lateral thinking puzzles. Here goes a link of examples

http://brainyplanet.com/index.php/Lateral%20Solution

(this link gives answers to some of the riddles so it is a spoiler)

I have gone through a lot of these, sometimes spending hours trying to guess the answer. I also emailed a few people who have hosted sites like this back and forth trying to figure out their posted puzzles. There have also been a few books published with these type of riddles.

Figuring out the whole story is asking the right question. It makes you think in ways you are not used to, so it is very hard sometimes.

I was going to guess that it was Lex Luthor giving Superman Kryptonite and then shooting him when he was vulnerable. But Kryptonite is crystalline, not metallic. Oh well, I'm stymied.

:P

:P

actually you are right, and kryptonite comes in many forms, one of which is metallic. I had to look it up myself to make sure

here is the resource:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kryptonite

If you read it says the most common forms are rock or metal. Of course I am not a huge fanboy of superman so whenever I encounter one they may tend to disagree.

The key questions are is it made of glass? do they know each other? Guess the color of the marble, and is it harmful to them? Those questions tend to tell you that its lex and super man.

I have sat down and figured out tons of these and I like them a lot, some people don't like them.

if interested here is another one:

A man is found dead. He has been shot in the head and is surrounded by 53 bicycles. Why?

Well, woohoo, I got it. One thing I hate about these is I find myself thinking about them all the time. Will try to ignore the bicycles one, but then again, I'm thinking about it right now! :P

The "bicycles" are Bicycle playing cards; the man was cheating at cards, and when the extra card was found, he was killed by the other players.

Bicycle Cards

What PLURAL word, when an S is added to the end, becomes SINGULAR?

There is only one word in the English language that this applies to, apparently.

is it a singular possessive noun? Like Tom's car? It is still singular but the S is added to show possession.

Sorry, tlarkin, no apostrophes allowed!

I'll give you a clue, the PLURAL word already ends with a S, add another S and it becomes SINGULAR!

Princes to Princess.

Here's an oldie:

A man wakes, showers, dresses, makes an early breakfast for himself, kisses his wife goodbye, picks up his briefcase and walks out the door. Outside of the house, he turns to unlock his car door and he knows that his wife is dead.

What happened?

His wife is already dead, he kissed the urn containing her ashes.

There were three creatures outside a building. One of the creatures did not move itself but entered the building and knew that it was in the building. The second creature moved itself, entered the building, and knew that it was in the building. The last creature did not move itself but entered the building, and the creature did not know that it was in the building.
What are the three creatures?

No. That's a good guess, but she was alive when he kissed her.

The revelation that she is dead is a sudden one.
