Hey folks.
Gotta gripe, so wondering if you've heard of a resolution. I've use a couple of your IOGear GCS712U gadgets in our design office, used to support switching between single keyboard/mouse to PC/Mac workstations/monitors. A constant gripe I get from our Mac guys is that when we double push/click the "Scroll Lock" key on the keyboard to switch between Mac and PC, it likewise reduces brightness on the attached Mac Powerbook. Have any tips on how we can fix this such that when pushing Scroll lock to switch computers, the brightness is likewise not reduced on the powerbook? Many thanks, Jim |

Well, it sounds like the scroll lock key-code must control screen brightness, obviosly, but Mac keyboards don't HAVE a scroll-lock key and I can't see in my keyboard short-cuts any brightness shortcut keys, although on laptops, the F1 and F2 keys control brightness. This source: http://guides.macrumors.com/Keyboard_shortcuts says that in order to do this using a standard keyboard, you use the fn key in association with the F! or F2 keys. But my standard keyboards don't HAVE function keys. So I'm a bit puzzled.
But if you can figure out what asii code is being sent by the scroll lock and assign it to a different key combination on the Mac, that might solve the problem. This, however, is a deduction, not verified by experiene, and I'm not sure from a practical point of view, just how to do this. Joe VanZandt |

having the same issue, and have not been able to stop it, (yet) but i can add the helpful hint that pressing the Break key (to the right of scroll lock) 2x will boost the brightness back up for you without having to go thru the display control app.
