I am going to buy the new OSX for my g4 and i was wondering if you have to register it like Microsoft. I would like to have 2 Mac's in my home to play with.

No, no registration/activation with Mac OS X. No serial number to enter.
Nothing to prevent use on more than one Mac, except your conscience. (and, of course, you would be violating the terms of the user license - Just thought I'd point that out )
And, Apple sells a 'Family' pack with license to use on up to 5 Macs.
