Exclamation iPod shows only the Apple logo

My iPod died!!! The screen only shows the Apple logo and then goes black. I have tried resetting it, but to no avail. I plug it into my PowerBook, but the cpu doesn't recognize it. I have tried everything that the Apple website tells me to do and nothing works.

Does anyone have a clue on what I need to do? Thanks in advance.

you need to send apple a service repair request, if it is still under warranty it should be covered, almost the same thing happened to me a while ago and im getting it fixed, go here http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
