APOP and secure imap
I'm using mac os x server 10.2.1 with AMS.
I have in the General tab of AMS the Standard method of authentication and in the protocols tabs I've setup IMAP to require the md5 authentication and POP to require APOP. Now I use Mail.app to check mail but I don't see the APOP authentication option. When I try the IMAP selecting the md5 challenge response option the server refuses always the password. The user has both POP and IMAP. It seems to work only without secure authentication... Why this? Thanks Max |

dont know but..?
have you started the "password server" I guess thats the one
who handles secure password, you need this also when a Windows Client wants to login in to the server. Use Utilities/Open Directory assistant |

I'm having the exact same issue. did anyone ever find out what happened, or what fixed the problem? My password server is running, but I still can't get Mail.app to get any or send any mail.
This is really annoying, and if someone could help i'd be so happy indeed.
