Entourage questions

Hi

One of the offices I support have now gone to Entourage 2004 from Outlook 2001 (as we recently upgraded to Exchange 2003 from 5.5) and for most of the part the users are happy however we have one niggling question that we cant seem to find the answer to.

All our users have a 50Mb mailbox and as we run several publications these can get filled quite easily. In outlook 2001 we setup PST files for some of the users which worked fine. They regularly archive the data into a PST and refer to it regularly. Is there a way Entourage can be setup with a similar Archive file which can be stored on the server so it can be backed up. All I can find is a way to backup and import the data when required or drag data to the local file which we cant backup. Our users reference the mail all the time so we need some form of archiving that can be referred to regularly. I have looked everywhere for an answer but cannot find one!

Thanks

mbox format is the way to go !

If you drag a folder from entourage to lets say desktop it will archive the mail in the mbox format. If you want to open that the mailbox simply drag back into entourage into the "on my computer area/inbox" and it will create a folder with all the mail in it. This can also be done with individual emails as well.

There are some automated appliactions that do email archiving as well. Maybe check out this http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/7383 or http://www.macupdate.com/search.php?...x=0&button.y=0

Or give then bigger email boxes.....mine are all 1gb-2gb in size now a days. I archive my mail by year using the mbox format.

Thanks, will experiment with that.

Unfortunatly we can't give the users bigger mailboxes due to the way we work (we have some users who go offsite a lot and connect via vpn, others work in different offices, some go offsite to exhibitions for weeks on end, others fly to various locations and then they would also moan that there blackberrys have problems when it runs out of storage. It would also mean more backup storage and longer backups)
