OK to remove a MacBook key to clean it?

Hi,

I can't find any info on the web about whether it's OK to remove a MacBook keyboard key. One of my keys is only working intermittently - I often have to hit it again and harder to make it work. I assume there's some dirt in there. I tried prising it gently, but got scared. I really don't want to break it!

Thanks

The first thing that I'd recommend is using a can of Air to blow out anything that is trapped under the keys. Press down the keys around the problem key so you can blow the air directly under it. It's not too difficult to remove and reinstall most of the MacBook keys. The problem ones are those that are wider than the standard key, especially the spacebar! Air is still your best solution.

Switch it off, turn it upside down, then shake and wiggle keys until the crap stops falling out of the keyboard.

Feel bad about eating chips while typing...
