The Evil Empire buys out Mark Russinovich of Sony rootkit fame
M$ just bought sysinternals.com and the guys behind it, Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell.
Mark discovered in 1996 that NT client and server were just two registry entries apart. No more "thinking different" to be expected here. |

the good thing about this is the possibility that some of the good stuff at Winternals actually makes it into Vista. That's one company that really knows how to make Windows work. The bad thing is that I'm sure their success has at least a little to do with the fact that they are not huge corporation...like MS.

Indeed, there is something to be said about the dynamics of scale. Which is one reason why smaller companies tend to be much more creative. And why democracy works really well in some communities, at the local level – and in some small nations such as Norway, which has approx. 4.6 million people. Size is not always conducive to... positive things.
