No sound on Powerbook G4

My wife managed to known my powerbook for a 3' drop - not impresed - especially since it happens the sound doesn't work.

I've previous had problems with the sound not working at all and they have always been cleared by powering off and leaving off without power or battery for a while. However when that was the case I had no sound at all.

Now I do have the start up sound a few seconds after power on so it seems a different case.

Even after leaving it to power down I get no joy.

The control panel displays internal speakers and built in audio in the control panel, but neither the headphone socket or the speakers give any sound.

After reading other posts I tried creating a new user to see what that would do but no difference - still doesn't work

Any suggestions?
