I just bought a Linksys WRT54G Router.
I am connecting a DSL Modem to the Router to a Mac G4 running 10.4
I access the router via Safari @ and it ask me for a user name and password. Where is this found?

In the manual. Assuming you haven't changed the default, it'll be listed somewhere.

Yup, it's in the manual. I can't remember it off the top of my head, it's something obvious like "admin" or "password" or "default." One thing about Linksys and other brands, if you can't find your manual is you can always download the PDF version at the Linksys site. I did that when I was configuring a Linksys for a friend the other day. They didn't know where it was, I got the manual from linksys.com and the password was in there.

The default Username for the Linksys WRT54G routers is:
Username: <leave blank>
Password: admin
If that doesn't work you can hard reset the router to the defaults and then using the above password will work. But doing a hard reset will clear all the configured settings that you currently have.
