Sounds quite introspective. You'd probably like: David Sylvian - "Secrets of the Beehive" [if not already familiar with it] -- And now, some R&R to wake up to... Stereophonics - "Vegas Two Times" |

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
While I like his style, for some reason David Sylvian's vocals have never really moved me. Maybe he's too polished for me ?

I've been listening to a lot of Enya and Dark Moor lately. The latter (and I hate to say this) you'll probably have to resort to some lesser than legitimate means to get, since their stuff is VERY HARD to find.

PSA: Hey gang, i suggest that from now on we start configuring our YouTube links to point to the <HTML5> version (i.e., Flash-free) if one exists. The way to do that is pretty simple...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRGtY_gvvYE&html5=True Freak Kitchen - “Nobody´s Laughing”NB: there are deliberate "distortion effects" in that particular viddy (so do not adjust your monitor).

I've been listening to Nobuo Uematsu lately. Also known as the guy who did the composing for the *good* Final Fantasy games. Specifically, the Final Fantasy IX soundtrack.
Highly recommended, even if you're not the video game type.

Weird thing with the html5 player is if it catches up to the buffering it loops back to the start...

I've been listening to quite a bit of COB (Children Of Bodem) recently .... or should i say my son has been blasting it out of his bedroom ....
The music is quite frenetic and I was very surprised to watch the live gig my son was watching, and seeing how cool and laid back the band members were, despite the very complex riffs and beats ...

A curious mix indeed. I just checked out the "Lake Bodom" track (no HTML5 version, but that should be mp4 with the &fmt=18 tag). Sounds to be a fusion of the Dixie Dregs (instrumentally speaking) and heavy metal (especially the "vocals"). I rather like it, compared to stereotypical metal (which is mostly akin to musical masturbation). Those dregs-like instrumental melodic riffs harken back to Irish/Scottish folk music, which was later adopted into bluegrass and other forms of cowboy-jazz. If only the satanic-sounding "vocals" were removed (ooooh scary), it's fairly high quality music underneath. Thanks for the tip. |

@Hal Itosis -- That drummer is freaking amazing. I might have to nab an album just to listen to the guy.
