Okay here is what i have noticed. My firewall is unavailable and I have run sudo ipfw flush and flushed the firewall. It still is unavailable. When i try and run ipfw flush it denys me access. I have cleaned out all files from any firewall i have ever used. Does anyone have any ideas here.

Did you restart your Mac? You need to do that and then check if there is any firewall configuration still installed by running the command:

sudo ipfw list

Are you running any other program which controls ipfw? For example, Virtual PC? Or one of the many ipfw front-end GUIs?

And when you are saying that the firewall is "unavailable", you are talking about a message you see in the Firewall section of Sharing preferences? Or what?

Note that other firewall configuration utilities would normally get installed under /Library/StartupItems - I assume you checked there.

Yes. When i go into it first it says other firewall software is running on your computer. to change the apple firewall settings, turn off the other firewall software. Then you click okay and it says firewall unavailable. Here is the deal tho. I know know other firewall software is installed or running on the computer.

Problem fixed i spent some more time looking through my hard drive. Door Stop is what did it. There was files in my personal folders on my computer. I dont know how they got there but the firewall is now up and running.
