pebl with isync

As of now it can't be done. I am sure Apple knows this will be a hot new handset and is working on adding it to the list of supported devices. Take a moment and give Apple some nice feedback at http://www.apple.com/feedback/isync.html and ask them to add it soon.

I miss my SonyEriccson Z600 so bad right now but alas it's time to move on and stop grieving...I can live with my sim card numbers for a while, like macworld in january I hope.

Good luck.

yeah, i know isync wont work yet but when i was an "early adopter" of the k750i, someone posted instructions on how to add the phone to the compatibility list by changing up some files. the pebl is much like the razr in functionality and i imagine it syncs using the same profiles. i wonder if there is a way to change the razr files to match those of the u6....

I tried hacking it using RAZV3's string settings but it didn't work. Guess we'll just have to wait for Apple to release an update.

nada. i tried messing around with the plists within isync, changing the razr references to the pebl but since i dont know the exact text the pebl would use, it did not work at all.

the tease part is that when you go to add device in isync, the pebl kicks on with its throbbing bluetooth light and then isync says, nice try, not supported.

10.1

Has anyone tried making an iSync plug-in for the PEBL? I plugged my PEBL in with a USB cable and noticed that the vendor/product ID's are the same as the RAZR so it *shouldn't* be impossible to hack together. I'll take a closer look at it tonight, but I'd like to know if anyone has tried it already.

Thanks!

Found a solution today for PEBL which I haven't been able to fully test, but has certainly connected pulled contacts trhough from phone & Entourage / Address Book etc. It's shareware called OnSync available at http://www.onmadesoft.com/index.html. You can download a demo and see what you think, but beats having to use a PC!

Unhappy

So I gave writing a plug-in for the PEBL a shot, but it appears that there may be other issues that's holding it back. As I mentioned previously, the PEBL identifies itself with the same product/vendor ID's as the RAZR so I tried spoofing the PEBL as a RAZR. I got that working, however, when I tried synching data things went sideways. After the sync, iSync reported that the PEBL refused some settings. It seems though that the PEBL took the sync, but jumbled the names in the adress book so that they were nothing more than random characters. Oddly, many of the phone numbers where numbers in my AddressBook.app

Oh well, I gave it a shot. It looks like we'll have to wait for an iSync update.

A note about OnSync and the PEBL mobile,
at the moment this mobile is not compatible with OnSync
a few tests gave negative results for this model.
If possible this mobile will be supported in the future.
for a detailed and updated list of mobiles supported by OnSync
please look at the following site: http://www.onmadesoft.com
in the Mobiles sections

sincerely

I just got my PEBL yesterday. I hope work continues on this, I would like to take full advantage of its Bluetooth capabilities. I couldn't even get Bluephone Elite software to work with it. I already left feedback with the iSynch team too.

Try this mod

From an earlier thread:

http://www.macosxhints.com/article.p...50520214153122

If you can figure out what existing model is most similar to yours. Remember to copy the plist file before working with it.

Didn't fully work for my Motorola V557 - names were came out gibberish on the phone. Also having trouble dialing from the computer using bluetooth connection.

PEBL Support

I have found the proper strings and iSync sees my PEBL via USB and Bluetooth.

The only problem I have now is that the contact names are all gibberish. The phone numbers and emails are all there, but the names look like they are in hex or something.

I figured it out !!! PEBL + ISYNC (Should also work for V557)

I got it !

The E398 also uses a different encoding with iSync. So I just took those settings and added them to my MetaClasses file that I made for the PEBL and it worked! USB or Bluetooth ! It all works now !!!

I have attached the PEBL PhonePlugin file that I use. Just put it in your /user/library directory and you are good to go !

Here is the important part that needed to be added for the proper encoding.

<dict>
<key>ServiceName</key>
<string>com.apple.synchro</string>
<key>ServiceProperties</key>
<dict>
<key>stringEncoding</key>
<string>UCS2</string>
</dict>
</dict>

P.S. Can someone please submit this to the main site - I don't know how to make it look pretty - Thanks!
