Dock in middle of screen!

My husband's Dock, which he keeps on the bottom of the screen, occasionally jumps to the middle of the screen and becomes very large while he's doing normal activities. The most recent incident (the one he showed me) happened when he clicked to close a pop-under ad in Safari. I can't take a screen shot because the next click makes it revert to the norrmal size and position! (He has a Cube with Tiger.)

You could take a photo with a digital camera.

He says not. It happened again as he was reading e-mail, using only the track ball and scrolling down the message.

I think the screen shot shortcuts work even if the mouse button is being held. Try shift-command-3. It'll save "Picture 1" to your desktop.

If he were to hit command or shift or three the Dock reverts to normal. It's not important to show you a picture-- it looks just like the large central Dock you get if you press command tab--except that there is no tabbing or rotating between the icons when it happens.

Except that it IS important to show us the picture. Unfortunately, some terms being used are already ambiguous (your use of "Dock" for example), so a picture is worth a thousand words.

If you have a digital camera, that would easily show us what you are referring to.
