Consolidating several iTools/.Mac accounts

Even a moderator doesn't always know where to post a new thread, so I'll put this one here and see if that works.

Like so many of you probably have, I had several mac.com addresses I'd started for family and friends. They weren't in the least interested in storage, posting pictures, etc.: only e-mail.

If you've subscribed to .Mac, you'll note that you can add up to 10 email addresses to your account for $10.00 a year each. What they don't tell you is that these can be existing mac.com addresses. Well, they can be.

What you must do is first decide how many email addresses you want to add, then you pay for them, then you create the new email accounts under your main mac.com account by entering the user name and password from the old iTools/mac.com accounts. You're given the warning that all files from the old account will be wiped. Say OK, and then there's the old email address, with its old password and settings preserved, now part of your mac.com account. Works like a charm, only be sure to set their email program to delete files from the server after a few days so as not to use up your 15 mb of storage.

Hey, that's great news! I've been wondering about that since they announced .Mac.

Thanks for the tip.
