Using Dial-Up Networking (DUN) on the Verizon E815
Here is how to get the Dial-Up Networking working on the Verizon Motorola E815 cell phone.
First - do the seem hack. Second - enable DUN by quickly entering ##DIALUP. Once done, your phone will display the dialog "Dialup Networking enabled". Third launch the Internet Connect application. You should see a Bluetooth icon at the top. If not, you need to go back to the System Preferences, Bluetooth panel and enable the Bluetooth modem. Edit the Bluetooth connection in Internet Connect. The telephone number is #777. The username is <tel#>@vzw3g.com {Where <tel#> is your cell phone number. E.g. 8005551212@vzw3g.com}. The password is VZW. Pick the "Verizon Support (PC 5220)" modem script. If it is NOT there, you can install it by downloading this Apple supplied download . {BTW- if you have a PC slot and a 5220 card, this is the support for it}. Click "Connect" and you are online via a Bluetooth Connection. |

Keep in mind that this is a violation of the TOS, and possibly a legal violation. Sprint has smacked a few people for doing the same thing (ranging from back fees for internet access to termination of the account). I don't know if Verizon is doing anything about it, but knowing their anti-customer attitude, it's a risk.
