distorted restitution of audio documents

I have a 1.25 MHz IMac. Since my upgrading to Mac Os X.3.9 (but maybe this is only casual) audio documents read by any Classic application are played too slowly (under Mac Os X, everything is fine).
For instance Victoria' voice (speech) seems to be a man's voice.

I tried the following actions (without success):
- restart Classic (this worked for a while with previous versions of Os X.3)
- reinstall Quicktime 6.0.3 (french)
- restart Classic in another 9.2.2 système located on the harddisk

What could I do else ?
