Remove user
This has probably been asked before, but how do I delete a user from the system? I take it you have to have root privlidges. Does it do any damage other than removing that user and all the folders?

This is the inelegant and non-approved way of doing it: From an administrator account, delete the user in the Users System Preferences. Then boot into OS 9 to delete the deleted user's files. I do not recommend this. You should hear soon from unixen the elegant and approved method.

Re: remove user
Thank you dbhill for some comment. Maybe I should explain more. My mac is a stand alone personal machine. I created an account for my son who was staying with me. He wanted to 'play' with it. I created an account for him so he wouldn't 'screw' things up in my own administrator account.
He's gone and I can't quite remove all his account as it is owned by 'root'. As a newbie to the underpinnings to OSX I thought to get some advice from more experienced users. Maybe it is inelegant to 'delete or remove'??? but I'd like to keep my mac 'clean'. yardcat |

The above "inelegant" method works just fine, you can also use the sudo command in the terminal - this thread gives more details...
