Retrospect 5.1.175 & Tiger

Can a new Tiger user advise if Retrospect 5.1.175 works in 10.4?

No Retrospect 5.x is not supported at all on 10.4 Tiger
And for Retrospect 6 there is an update coming.

Its not like Dantz did not have tiger builds for now over a year.

Warning Rant comming

Dantz and retrospect are really going down the toilet it seams. Retrospect has now so many problems like backup speeds are so slow, backup scripts are still very messy and the Backup Server and clients need a lot of work.

it just seems that it is built to be slow try this backup a gig or so and check out the cpu usage, disk and network (if your using it) and compare it to copying the files manually and checksumming both the source and backup files. You'll find it is very slow it really is no faster than retrospect 2 used to be and having a application advance so far and computers being so much faster why the hell is it so slow.

BTW sorry for that but its been brewing

I feel exactly the same - I don't like it, but there does not seem a reasonable alternative that has incremental backups

Ever since they came out with a PC version, things have been going downhill.
